Peter C. Campanella, M.D.

Peter C. Campanella, M.D. , is originally from Long Island , New York . After graduating high school in New York , he completed his Bachelor of Science Degree from Pennsylvania State University with Highest Distinction Honors.

After college, he obtained his Doctor of Medicine Degree at the Jefferson Medical College of the Thomas Jefferson University in a combined six year pre-medical program with Penn State . Following a combined medical/surgical internship at the Albert Einstein Medical Center , he then completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Penn State / Hershey Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Campanella has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Penn State / Hershey Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology. He has authored a number of articles in his field and has given presentations at national meetings.

Dr. Campanella is a Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. In addition, he is a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, the Reading Ophthalmologic Society, the Berks County and Pennsylvania Medical Societies.

Currently, Doctor Campanella performs surgery at four locations: in his office in Sinking Spring, at Berkshire Eye Surgery Center, at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center and at the HealthSouth / Exeter Surgery Center.

Dr. Campanella has been in private practice serving the Berks county area since 1996. He has performed thousands of refractive surgical procedures including LASIK.

In addition, Dr. Campanella specializes in small incision, no stitch/no needle injection cataract surgery and combines this with astigmatic keratotomy to reduce astigmatism. In many cases, this combination provides Dr. Campanella's patients good distance vision without glasses after their surgery!
